Message Alright, so the Z's turbos are pretty shot at this point. Now, my dad is currently waiting for an insurance settlement to finance the Z's upgrades/repairs.

Well, the problem is that my dad is against letting me do the work on the car. My argument is that it is a huge waste of money to let Z1 do the labor to install the turbos, electrical harness, clutch, and detonation sensor (those are the basic things that I think need to be done now). My dad, on the other hand, says he'd rather 'pay to have the job done right'. He seems to think it's too difficult for me to manage, but he hasn't even looked into it; and heck, I'm currently jobless and out of school, so I've got plenty of free time. Now, it is true that I've never done an engine pull or anything quite that major, but I get the impression it's more time-consuming than difficult, and I'm pretty patient and there's tons of great info on this site, so I think I should be fine.

What do you guys think? How hard of a job/how realistic is this? Should I let my dad waste money on having someone else do it, or should I tell him we need to get in on the SMIC group buy :D
